About the Wine

When some of the most prominent wine critics in the world use phrases like “Bright & Charming”, “One of my favorite rosé Champagnes out there”, “A lively rosé Champagne”, “Amazing length and beauty” to describe a wine, you can’t expect nothing but perfection. And perfection is an accurate word to describe this NV Billecart Salmon Brut Rose.

“This cuvée showcases the mastery and knowledge of balance. It’s this subtle delicateness, born from harmony and finesse which I like in the Brut Rosé. For me, this champagne can be drunk at any point, breakfast lunch or dinner. At any time, it’s like a ray of sunlight that transcends the beauty of the moment.” ~Pastry Chef, Maison Pierre Hermé

Maison Billecart-Salmon is an ode to Champagne. This family legacy began with Nicolas François Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon more than 200 years ago. Today - and 7 generations later - this Maison continues to shine for its superb quality wines.

In addition to the 240 acres of Billecart-Salmon’s vineyard, this Maison sources grape from some of the best 40-crus vineyards in the Champagne region. Billecart-Salmon's vineyards are managed with environmentally responsible practices, using ancestral winemaking methods; the extreme care that they put into the vineyard is reflected in every bottle, resulting in elegant wines that are faithful to the perfect and sought-after Champagne’s terroir.

Every corner of the Maison is perfectly designed and suited to the operation of the traditional Champenoise method, the vinification process is guided by no one else than French renowned winemakers, Denis Blée and Florent Nys.

NV Billecart Salmon Brut Rose is so delicate, yet full of flavor, it comes alive on the palate with strawberries and finesse. This is an exceptional and highly demanded Rosé Champagne. It will blow your mind just after the first sip, and we can assure you that you will have your "aha moment" of why people fall in love with champagne.

Tasting Notes: 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier. The Rosé that brought the world to their knees. Billecart-Salmon's Champagne Rosé helped land a spot on the maps in regards to the appreciation of the pink bubbles. Stylistically the wine is predominately chardonnay lightness and elegance with no skin contact during maceration. Pinot Noir is blended in as a red wine for the light, unique color, and red fruit flavors, and it consists of 3 vintages with up to 40% reserve wines.

Reviews

"This is clearly one of my favorite rosé Champagnes out there. I love the freshness and clarity in the wine, from its light pink color to crisp acidity and minerality, a chalky character on the finish. It's full-bodied and dense yet agile with amazing length and beauty. Refreshing and vibrant. As it warms, it gives you delicate pinot noir character like Aloxe-Corton or another excellent appellation." ~95 Points, James Suckling.

A lively rosé Champagne with pleasing, citrusy juiciness to the flavors of steeped raspberry, white peach, and blanched almond. A subtle thread of chalky minerality winds through the finish. Drink now through 2023.” ~92 Points, Wine Spectator.

The palest of rosés, this is an elegant, structured wine. Its dryness is balanced by the fine apple and red-currant fruits and the strong sense of minerality. Fragrant and lightly structured, this fine bottling is ready to drink.” ~92 Points, Wine Enthusiast.

“Based on the 2016 vintage, the new NV Brut Rosé from Billarcart-Salmon has turned out nicely, mingling notes of red berries and plums with notions of peach, dried flowers, and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy, and elegant, it's bright and charming, with a generous core of fruit, racy acids, and a pinpoint mousse. Giving and demonstrative, it's already drinking well.” ~90 Points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.

“The blend is 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and 30% Pinot Meunier. With an intense bouquet of raspberry, flowers, and lemon, this cuvée possesses a straight, pure, and clean palate with vinosity and tension. Dosage: 9g/l.” ~90 Points, Decanter.
