The 1966 Latour is the wine of the vintage! Very dark ruby colored with an amber edge, the wine boasts a top-notch bouquet of leather, spices, tobacco, and ripe fruit. Quite concentrated, rich and powerful, it has shed much of its ferocious tannin and is easily the best wine produced by Latour in the sixties, omitting of course, the monumental 1961.
