About the Wine

A few minutes’ drive from Saint-Émilion, in the village of Saint Pey d’Armens, Château de Saint-Pey covers an area of 20 hectares. The north-south-oriented Château opens onto a large park which provides a glimpse of the first parcels of vines and offers a magnificent backdrop for this historical wine estate. A close-knit, highly motivated team works tirelessly to produce high-quality grapes and, from them, aromatic wines that combine modernity and tradition.

Chateau de Saint-Pey is owned by the Sichel family. The Sichel family's crown jewel is non-other than Chateau Palmer. Originally acquired in 1938, the Sichel family has carried and advanced the torch to light the way for Chateau Palmer's status and prestige. Since 1883 the family has been producing quality wines from a variety of Chateau. Chateau Palmer and Chateau Angludet to name a few

Tasting NotesDeep, dark purplish hints. The pleasant expressive and complex nose opens with toasted brioche and cocoa beans thanks to the aging in Oak Barrels, mixed with notes of ripe black fruits. The wine is full and generous on the palate, structured with elegant tannins. The aromatic finish draws out the pleasure of this wine.

Reviews

Condensed and pretty with dark fruit, berry, and walnut. Full body, very silky. Integrated tannins. ~93 James Suckling
