About the Wine

Coeur de Terre is the story of two lovers, driven by an unwavering passion for wine who set out to grow high-quality Pinot Noir that is the best expression of the Willamette terroir. In 1998 Scott and Lisa Neal purchased the vineyards that would become the foundation of Coeur de Terre. Together the couple takes an old-world approach to winemaking producing wines with minimal intervention that allow the soils and terroir to shine through in their wines. They only utilize organic and Burgundian focused viticultural practices that map out small lots to better express the individual terroir. Their wines are pure with depth and complexity to rival the greats of Burgundy. Discover what makes these wines full of love!

Coeur de Terre Oregon Pinot Noir is comprised of 60% estate fruit grown in the heart of the McMinnville AVA, the westernmost growing region of the Northern Willamette Valley. Renelle’s Block, Sarah Jane’s Block, Abby’s Block, and Tallulah’s Run all planted on the Coeur de Terre estate, bring their own distinct terroir to this elegant pinot noir. The remaining fruit comes from a small McMinnville grower and a vineyard just on the outskirts of McMinnville, giving you a complex and in-depth representation of what the northern Willamette Valley has to offer.

Tasting Notes: Red Wine. 100% Pinot Noir. This vintage offers deep red color and lures you in with its signature Coeur de Terre earthy aromatics, dried herbs followed by notes of cherry and raspberry. It shows a nice structure with fine tannins and a round mouthfeel.

Reviews

Some light and brightly spiced red cherries with vanilla and perfumed red flowers. The palate has a very plush strawberry core with a fresh, supple, and softly fleshy texture. ~92 James Suckling

Light and lifted, this wine impresses with its oak-free vibrancy and refinement. It’s nimble enough for first-course sipping, with pâté. ~91 Wine & Spirits
