About the Wine

Located along the banks of Germany's Rhine River Valley, Schloss Vollrads is the oldest continually run winery in the world. Known for it's outstanding Rheingau vineyards, many of which hold a Grosse Gewächs (Grand Cru) designation, coupled with the talents of distinguished winemaker Dr. Roland Hepp - help produce brilliant Riesling of crystalline purity and complexity!

Schloss Vollrads began cultivating wine over 800 years ago and has established a tradition that continues to this day. Their long history has granted a rich heritage and an obligation to continue this tradition. Today Schloss Vollrads, the oldest Estate in Germany, continues that tradition. The combination of historic roots and contemporary facilities, make Schloss Vollrads a special place and highlights Riesling as an extraordinary variety.

Tasting Notes: White Wine. 100% Riesling. A perfectly balanced and elegant Riesling combined with lively acidity and sweetness. On the palate, this Riesling Kabinett shows fine mineral notes and aromas of ripe pear, quince, and melon. A well-balanced wine for the Mediterranean and Asian cuisine.

Reviews

Fleshy and plump compared to this producer's more mineral medium-sweet Kabinett, this bottling is a glorious fountain of lusciously sweet yellow peach, apple and tangerine flavors. It's still zesty and spry in texture, with riveting pinpoints of acidity that linger on the finish. ~91WE
