About the Winery

Claus Janzen is originally from Winnipeg, Canada. After helping to build the international market for Chuck Wagner at Caymus vineyards, he launched Bacio Divino as one of the first Super-Napa wines by blending Sangiovese with Cabernet. As a result of his success, Janzen has been a long-time friend of Andy Beckstoffer and has access to some of the premier fruit in the world including from To-Kalon, Missouri Hopper, and his own estate vineyard in Calistoga, Cloudy's.

Kirk Venge, son of legendary Napa winemaker Nils Venge, makes the wines to be approachable, joyful, and yet with great depth and complexity deserving of the finest wine lists.

Reviews

Peppery and meaty, this 100% varietal wine is sourced from select estates around the valley. With lively acidity beneath its rich, ripe blackberry and cassis flavors, it shows sturdy tannin and a mild finish. ~ 91pts, WE
