About The Wine

The Napa Valley Reserve Cabernet is potentially the most significant wine from the Greg Norman Estates. To make this wine, Greg and his daughter Morgan tapped the shoulder of Wine Enthusiasts 2008 Winemaker of the year, Margo Van Staaveren to craft this. With all the time this spent in new French oak, and the majority of the fruit hailing from Saint Helena, this wine is ready for any Bold Cabernet Drinkers.

Greg Norman spent the majority of his life pursuing excellence on the golf course. After years of success in the professional Golf scene, Greg has taken his pursuit of greatness to the vineyard. Greg Norman Estates produces wine from grapes grown in Australia, New Zealand, and California. The wines are all unique in their own way, but the common thread that connects them all is the consistent quality that can be attributed to Greg's competitive spirit. His unyielding approach to both golf and life earned him the nickname, The Great White Shark. Created from a family passion and strengthened by determination, Greg Norman Estates was founded in 1996. A strong believer in the role of wine as part of an active, easygoing lifestyle, Greg’s aim is to produce approachable yet bold wines to be enjoyed by family, fans, and wine enthusiasts alike.

Aging: 19 Months in new French Oak Barrels

Tasting Notes: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Layers of brambly berry, rhubarb, and boysenberry fruit aromas are complemented by cardamom spice and earthy, lavender notes. The complex nose, evolving with time in the glass, leads to an inviting, opulently textured mouthfeel with plush flavors of perfectly ripened berries, currants, and a pronounced chocolaty richness. This is a well-structured wine, defined by grace and balance, with a firm backbone yet is elegant and approachable.

Reviews

This delivers a blast of cherry and red currant compote flavors out front, backed by lightly toasted vanilla and red licorice notes. An open, bramble-edged finish lets the fruit play out. A crowd-pleaser. Drink now through 2025. ~91 Wine Spectator
