About the Wine

Trailblazing the infant rosé category in South Africa, the first Mulderbosch Rosé was released in 1999. The Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from vineyards specifically farmed to produce Rosé fruit. On arrival at the cellar, these early picked, specially selected grapes are vinified in the same manner in which an aromatic white wine would be, with the aim of producing a fresh, aromatic style of Rosé!

Since their founding in 1989, Mulderbosch has been nothing short of a trail blazer. The first South African estate to producer a barrel fermented Chenin Blanc and one of the only producers who exclusively grows Cabernet Sauvignon for rose production. Their sustainable practices and cool climate vineyards produce wines of great depth and complexity. This is one of the best rosés we've tasted with plenty of life to it. Enjoy this rich and refreshing rosé on a Sunday evening, whilst soaking up the warm of the sun!

Tasting notes: Rosé. The nose explodes with fresh aromas of sliced strawberries, and carries a lightly herbal note. Although vibrant and fresh, the palate also has fruit purity and concentration making this a serious example of the genre. The wine is well balanced, with a keen note of acidity running the length of its core, and a clean, delightful flurry of flavor on the everlasting finish.
