About the Wine

You want this wine in your refrigerator at all times. Seriously. This is a fantastic value and the quality matches and bests many champagne at triple the price! We're very enthusiastic about the whole lineup from Veuve Ambal.

Like champagne, the second fermentation is in bottle. Aging is between 12-15 months, which is much longer than you would expect for a wine at this price.

Notes: The color is pale pink. The nose shows notes of red fruits and grenadine. In the mouth, flavors of dried currants and gourmet candies explode. The sparkle and mousse of the wine bring eminent joy.

Blend: 60% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir,  20% Gamay

12% ABV. 13 g/l residual sugar

About the Winery

VEUVE AMBAL is a family-run Winery established over 100 years ago in the heart of the Burgundy region.  It was established towards the end of the 19th century in 1898 in Rully, the birthplace of its founder, Marie Ambal. This pioneering woman developed the reputation of sparkling wines from Burgundy far beyond the region's borders. Anne Marie Ninot was born in Rully in 1859 in the heart of the Burgundy wine-growing regions. 20 years later she was married to a Parisian banker, Antoine Emile Ambal.  She will follow him in Paris and they will have two children. At her husband's death, Marie returned to her native village of Rully, where her brother still lived. He was an owner and merchant of Burgundy wines. This time saw the beginnings of the champagne method. Marie was interested in it and decided to create her own Maison in 1898. To begin with, she produced both red and white high-quality champagne-method sparkling wines. In 1929 happened the first transmission to her Grandson Charles Roux. He ran the company up until his death in 1988 before it was passed on to his grandson Eric Piffaut. Today, the company is run by her descendant, Eric Piffaut. His son, Aurélien, is also involved in the business. Together, they use their expertise and knowledge to continue the family tradition of producing high-quality wines. As a result of the success of its wines, a production site was built in 2005, near to the Beaune region and the A6 motorway. The brand new Veuve Ambal winery is large, ultramodern facility equipped with the latest and greatest, state-of-the-art vinification tools and robotics which allow the winery to maintain a very high level of quality.
