About the Wine
Antica Vigna is a second label to the SalvaTerra winery that is used to produce wines that don't fit their typical Amarone production. The wines under this label always seem to exceed expectations and the Prosecco is no different. This is the perfect sparkling wine for opening any night of the week, and you still get to feel like you are drinking top-tier wine.
Fragrant, light, and floral. These are the adjectives that best describe Prosecco. Thanks to its authentic nature, this is a wine that has been able to reinvent itself from a regional table wine to a status symbol for toasting and celebrations, in Italy and beyond. It is consistently the best-selling Italian wine in the world and in 2014, sales of Prosecco surpassed even that of the famed "bubbly", Champagne. A recent success that conceals a much more complex and fascinating history.
Tenute SalvaTerra was born in Cengia, a hamlet of San Pietro in Cariano, in the heart of the classic Valpolicella, in one of the most beautiful Venetian residences of the late 15th century: Villa Giona, surrounded by cypresses, olive trees, centuries-old stone walls, and vineyards. The estate exists as an expansive verdant garden, with an excellent winery onsite.
Tasting Notes:100% Glera. Straw color with greenish hues, aromas of light citrus, and golden delicious apples, bright energetic palate and long-lasting finish. Excellent as an aperitif.
