Balance is key in Amarone. Too high sugars at harvest lead to alcoholic/hot wines. Too much unfermented sugar, and the wine is sweet and cloying. Ruby red colour with garnet tinges. A clean nose, ethereal, with hints of spice and cherry, raspberry, currant, cocoa and slight balsamic notes in the background. In the mouth full bodied, with freshness of bright berry fruit and good structure on the palate, with a persistently pleasant finish which includes a hint of dried fruit. Enticing and long. Very complex, big but not dense, elegant and refined with amazing balance.
