About the Wine

Croze 2013 Napa Valley Chardonnay hails from Napa Valley’s Oak Knoll District is one of the most exciting and delicious Chardonnays shown in some time.

This wine was made from Oak Knoll fruit, sur lie and without malolactic fermentation which all combine to make this one complex, delicious and fun wine.

This Chardonnay comes from Simone Vineyard in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. It is barrel aged sur lie and bottled without malolactic inoculation. The resulting wine has a defined depth of flavor with a bright and crisp acidity. In keeping with the CROZE philosophy, the wine demonstrates exceptional balance and is priced to be an extreme value based on wine quality.

This is one of the few remaining mid-valley Chardonnay vineyards. It is owned and farmed by Jim Simpson, a truly gifted grower of grapes as well as fine vegetables for Napa Valley's premier restaurants. This is a sweet spot for Chardonnay which benefits from the "chimney effect" of San Pablo Bay. Like the French Mistrals of France's Burgundy region, the cool breezes and morning fog provide a cooler climate, ideal for these tender grapes.

Try this wine with pasta and cream sauces, roast poultry, and soft cheeses.

Tasting Notes: Lovely light golden hues, from the perfectly clear heart of the wine out to the light-catching edges. After a bold cascade of fruit, flowers and spice, the wine fades very gradually, eventually drying the edges of the palate.Enjoy this flavorful Chardonnay with grilled chicken, smoked salmon, or an assortment of hard cheeses and fruits.
