About the Winery

In horse racing terms, the Post Parade refers to the trot that the horses make from the paddock to the starting gate. The wine is made by Thomas Brown and it is a partnership between great friends from Kentucky - Matt White, Mark Gray, and Brook Smith, who are all around Bon vivants. The grapes come from the incredibleTench Vineyard next door to Screaming Eagle in Oakville and the Red Head Vineyard up Soda Springs Road.

Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown has made so many 100 pt and near-perfect wines, we've lost count. TRB is one of Napa and Sonoma’s most accomplished winemakers, having distinguished himself at Schrader Cellars, Outpost Wines, and with his own brand, Rivers-Marie.

Thomas was born and raised in Sumter, South Carolina. While attending the University of Virginia, he developed an interest in wine that lead to travel throughout Europe after graduation. After moving to California in 1996, he expanded his knowledge of wines from all the world's great regions working at All Seasons Wine Shop in Calistoga. Beginning at Turley Wine Cellars, Thomas worked his way up from assistant winemaker to consulting winemaker for several small labels in 2000. He began consulting full-time with the harvest of 2001. He currently works on several high-end projects throughout Napa and Sonoma.

Stretch Drive is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and 100% Napa Valley. While Stretch Drive is made in a similar fashion as its companion, Post Parade, it showcases another side of Napa Valley — soft, rich, and fruit-driven. It has a velvety mouthfeel with more subdued tannins. Renowned winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown worked hard to create a wine of this quality at a price that every wine lover can afford.

Aging: 20 Months in 72% New French Oak

Tasting Notes: Red Wine. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine that doesn't need food, just pop the cork and go! Bright red fruit notes (we’re talking ripe cherries and raspberries) balanced with the perfect level of vanilla undertones. This silky, velvety Cabernet is perfect for all occasions.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Stretch Drive is also terrific and has a supple, sweetly fruited, sexy style. Ample blueberry and strawberry liqueur, fruitcake, and spring flower notes all emerge from this full-bodied, massive fruit bomb that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. I suspect it will age, but I’d just drink it. ~93 Jeb Dunnuck
