About the Wine

Heir Apparent is spearheaded by ambitious Dwight Bonewell. Through his vision, Dwight has created an Ultra-Luxury Napa Cab that sources fruit from some of Napa's most prized vineyards. The 2016 Reserve is a blend of fruit from Rutherford, Mt. Veeder, and St. Helena; most notably sourced from vineyards next door to Scarecrow and Cakebread. You can pay hundreds of dollars for a bottle of Scarecrow or Cakebread or you can seize the moment and capture this magnificent bottle of Cabernet available for a fraction of the original SRP!

The 2016 vintage was a fruitful one and an abundant harvest full of high-quality & near-perfect fruit! Wine Spectator gave the vintage a 98 point rating while Robert Parker concurred with another 98 point score. 2016 Napa Cabernets have been flying off the shelves in high demand, a perfect situation benefiting the wineries who produced more wine than in previous vintages and blessing the consumer with quality wine.

That's where we come in, finding Ultra-Luxury brands that sell to a small lot of high-net-worth clients who have an excess of wine. The 2016 Heir Apparent Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is the essence of this promising vintage and the continuation of rich history in Napa Valley.

Tasting notes: Red Wine. 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. In classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon fashion, this wine shows intriguing notes of ripe raspberry, red currant, plum, dusty tannins, and a round & full palate.

Reviews

Red wine: Blended of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Heir Apparent Napa Valley has a deep garnet-black color and lifted black cherries, roses and star anise scents with leather, tea, incense and red and black currants at the core. The palate is medium to full-bodied, firm and chewy yet with a great core of muscular fruit, finishing savory. ~92 Robert Parker
