About the Wine

According to James Suckling, Prosecco is one of the hottest wine categories in the world at the moment." He also says that this is perhaps because of "its reasonable price compared to Champagne or other sparkling wines. Or maybe the light, fresh style of Italy’s popular spumante." 

Prosecco is an outstanding great value sparkling wine, but that doesn't demerit the outstanding quality that this Italian spumante has. And when it comes to extremely high-quality, 2020 Malibran Prosecco Valdobbiadene DOCG is at the top of its game. 

Malibran's 37-acre vineyard is located in Susegana, right in the heart of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG. This family-owned winery has been crafting outstanding wines for more than 60 years. And today, with 3rd generation owner, Maurizio Favrel, things have never looked better for this estate. He says, “I’ve got my own unique style that I like, and I believe in a wine that I know people that enjoy Prosecco Superiore will appreciate. Wines from this area are all special, all unique.”

This outstanding Prosecco comes from Susegana, one of the 15 townships of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG, in the Treviso area, also known as "The garden of Venice." This terroir has ideal conditions with calcareous clay soils and refreshing breezes from the Adriatic sea, this region has become a paradise for Glera to thrive.

2020 Malibran Prosecco Valdobbiadene DOCG is not your typical Italian sparkling wine, this is an outstanding Prosecco. A protagonist wine that deserves to be served at the correct temperature (between 40 and 45℉) and paired with amazing seafood, salmon, or appetizers. 

Fermentation in stainless steel, on lees in tank for 10 months, 2nd fermentation in autoclave per Martinotti method, 5 g/L dosage (extra brut)

Tasting Notes: 100% Glera. The aroma is light and flowery with a scent of rose and a harmonious and complete scent of ripe apples and pears with hints of citrus fruit.  Altogether dry, fragrant, and well-balanced with a soft and progressive carbonic development.
