About the Wine

Domaine Louis Latour covers 48 hectares of vineyard, including 27 hectares of Grand Cru, and is the largest holding of Grand Cru vineyards in Burgundy. The Domaine is centered in the village of Aloxe-Corton which has been the Latour's family home since the creation of the house. Their philosophy has always been to maximize the quality of grapes to produce great wines; 90% of the work is done in the vineyards however the remaining 10% is critical. The care and attention to detail seen in the vineyards are carried over into their winemaking where commitment to traditional and manual techniques brings out the absolute best in all of their wines.

Chassagne-Montrachet and its neighbor Puligny-Montrachet are well-known for their Grand Crus, the most famous being the Montrachet. However, apart from these white Grand Crus, Chassagne-Montrachet also produces outstanding red wines. These wines have a good body and their structure is reminiscent of the reds from the Côte de Nuits.

Aging: 10 to 12 months aging in 35% new oak barrels

Tasting Notes:Red Wine. 100% Pinot Noir. Intense color with a bouquet of red fruits especially raspberry and blackcurrant. In the mouth, this wine is round with a lovely balance between the fruit, acidity, and tannin. It is still a little young to be appreciated in its true glory.
