About the Wine

This is a precocious wine. Already aromas jump out of the glass. Greg Martellotto believes blends are better and this wine highlights the symphonic harmony of three Bordeaux varietals: 40% Malbec, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 25% Cab. Franc. The dark, layered fruits of Malbec combine with the tannic structure and blue fruits from the Cabernet. And a touch of fresh Med. herbs entices from the Cabernet Franc carries through into the mouth. Flavors of ripe plum, blueberry, oak, and vanilla dance on the tongue. The striking thing here is that the wine is soft yet has a lip-smacking acidity that makes it ideal for drinking on its own or with food.

Since 2005, Martellotto Winery has been setting the pace in Central Coast and Santa Barbara for great wines at an affordable price. The newest set of releases is the best ever. Reviews

Already bottled, the 2017 Rosso di Sera is a plump, rounded, sexy wine that has loads of ripe cherries, blackberries, toasted spices, and earth. With medium to full-bodied richness and ample fruit, it's a delicious, fun wine to drink over the coming 4-5 years. The blend is 40% Malbec, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 25% Cabernet Franc, all aged 10 months in 20% new oak. ~90 Jeb Dunnuck

Ripe and ready aromas of black cherry, wood spice, and clove are intense on this blend of 40% Malbec, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc. The palate is rounded with ripe dark fruit and baking-spice flavors, framed by mouth-coating soft tannins. ~90 Wine Enthusiast
