About the Wine

Located right in the middle of Provence, between Lorgues and Draguignan, Château Roubine is one of the oldest wine estates of France. Famous ever since the 14th century, the Templars yielded the property to the Saint James of Jerusalem Order in 1307. Its strategic position on the Roman road “Julienne” and its particular beauty attracted many visitors throughout the years. In 1953, the Ministry of Agriculture awarded the property with the “Cru Classé” title. A prestigious title only awarded to the finest estates in Provence. Chateau Roubine is one of 18 Cru Classé in the region.

The Estate spreads over 320 acres in one piece, 178 acres of which are planted with vines. The vineyard benefits from very favorable conditions to produce wines of excellence in the three colors: a great diversity of grape varieties (thirteen), a natural drainage "Roubine" meaning stream in Provence dialect, a strong environmental approach of winemaking. Certified in sustainable agriculture since 2008, in Organic Agriculture since 2017, and finally since 2020, in Biodynamic Agriculture.

Tasting Notes50% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre, 10% Cinsault, 10% Syrah, 5% Tibouren and 5% Rolle. A beautiful rosé with pale fruit, fresh and balanced. The fruit is crunchy on the nose (clementine). Intense freshness and great aromatic elegance in this blend of Grenache and Syrah. It is a wine of gluttony and pleasure. At the same time mineral, lively, complex, and elegant.

Reviews

Beautifully structured, this rich wine includes perfumed Mourvèdre in the blend. Ripe strawberry fruits have a pure line of acidity, hinting at mango and pineapple as well as lime freshness. Drink from late 2021. ~93 Wine Enthusiast
