The grape for 2016 Tenuta Tre Rose 'Santa Caterina' Vino Nobile di Montepulciano comes from one of the five hills called “Santa Caterina”, where the vineyards are exclusively planted with Sangiovese grapes. The result is impressive: A modern wine with the classic elegance that characterizes Tuscany.
Tasting Notes: 100% Sangiovese. An intense red color with purplish glints. On the nose, there is a real explosion of red fruit, reminiscent of cherries in alcohol, redcurrants, blackberries, myrtle-leaved orange, and myrtle. In the mouth this wine is immediately soft and sweet, then moves on to a long, light, and elegant finish. Pair this wine with grilled meat or game, lamb, aged cheeses, and pasta with truffles.
“Fragrant and refined, this elegant red offers enticing scents of woodland berry, pressed rose, violet, and culinary spice. The polished focused palate delivers ripe Marasca cherry, raspberry compote, star anise, and clove set against precise fine-grained tannins. Drink 2020–2030” ~93 Wine Enthusiast.
