About the Wine

Barbarescos have never been better. They are just as good and in some cases better than Barolos, especially when it comes to price” ~Ian D’Agata, Decanter.

2015 Nada Fiorenzo Barbaresco is made with Nebbiolo from Manzola. This region, located in the commune of Treiso, this well-know area is where some of the most recognized and admired Barbarescos in the world are being produced; in fact, only 4 miles away is located the world-renowned producer, Gaja.

Manzola is also one of the smallest and oldest Crus in the area, and with its nearly-perfect terroir made up of clayey and calcareous limestone soils, the wines are incredibly exciting, elegant and a pleasure to drink and share.

The history of Nada Fiorenzo begins in 1921 when Carolo Nada purchased an abandoned farmhouse and began producing wine to sell to local restaurants. It wasn't until 1982 that the estate produced and bottled its first wine under the Nada Fiorenzo label. Today, fourth-generation winemaker Danilo Nada carries the touch focusing on lowering the quantity and raising the overall quality of the Estate produced wines. Danilo produces world-class single vineyard Barbaresco along with a variety of classic Northern Italian varieties.

“Bruno Nada is one of the most underrated and overlooked growers in Piedmont” ~Antonio Galloni.

Aging: 24 months in oak, 6 months in the bottle.

Tasting Notes: 100% Nebbiolo. Its bright red garnet color heralds an expansive floral bouquet and a sapid, austere palate. Already elegant when young, it acquires total harmony with age. Pair this wine with roast and braised beef and veal, lamb, hard cheeses, biscuits, and pastries.

Reviews

This offers a lovely expression of strawberry, cherry, and licorice aromas and flavors, with a hint of tar. Elegant and supple, featuring a light grain to the well-integrated tannins and fine length. Best from 2021 through 2036. ~93 Wine Spectator

The 2015 Barbaresco Manzola is beautifully lifted and gracious in the glass.Rose petal, sweet red cherry, mint, wildflowers, and cinnamon are nicely woven together in this very pretty and expressive Barbaresco. As was the case last year, my impression is that the heat of 2015 helped produce a flashy, racy Barbaresco with relatively soft contours that will drink well with minimal cellaring. The 2015 is such an attractive wine. ~93 Vinous Media
