About the Wine
Wine critic James Suckling says, “Prosecco is one of the hottest wine categories in the world at the moment. Maybe it’s a reasonable price compared to Champagne or other sparkling wines. Or maybe it’s the light, fresh style of Italy’s popular spumante? Whatever, Prosecco can be wonderful."
We agree with Mr. Suckling, but guess what? Since 2020, there's been an even hotter wine category: Prosecco Rosé!
If you didn’t realize that pink Prosecco existed, that’s no surprise. While pink sparkling wines were made in the regions that produce Prosecco, they could not be called Prosecco. It could only be labeled "vino spumante.” But, in 2020, the Prosecco DOC allowed the labeling and selling of pink sparkling wine with the Prosecco Rosé DOC designation. Prosecco Rosé has quickly become a successful symbol of celebration and a revolution in the wine industry. This is a beautiful blend of Glera and Pinot Noir. It's a light, delicate, pale pink wine. The Glera grape shows notes of white flowers, green apples, citrus, and blossom, and the touch of Pinot Noir enhances some subtle and elegant hints of raspberry. This is the perfect wine to enjoy with fresh spring dishes or honestly on its own.
Tasi comes from the beautiful Veneto region, known for its hills, history, and amazing wines. But this story is special — the vineyard actually sits in an old limestone quarry on a hill in Val d’Illasi, near Verona. This quarry was once a busy place where limestone was mined for a cement factory. Now, it’s a peaceful spot where vines grow strong, thanks to the rich soil left behind.
Nearby, the Colli Euganei hills just outside Padova add another layer to the story. These hills were formed by ancient volcanic activity, so the soil is a unique mix of lava, magma, clay, and chalk. This volcanic soil gives Tasi’s grapes a fresh, mineral taste that you won’t find just anywhere.
The winery itself is the dream of three friends — Matteo, Michele, and Mattia — who started planting vines here in the early 2000s with a promise to farm organically and biodynamically. They care deeply about nature, keeping lots of woods around the vineyard where wild animals roam. They also raise animals like horses, sheep, goats, chickens, and bees to keep the land healthy.
In 2013, after years of hard work, they opened Tenuta Le Cave Wine Relais and Organic Farm — a beautiful place where visitors can stay, enjoy great food with stunning views, visit the wine shop, and even relax at the spa.
So, when you enjoy Tasi Prosecco Brut DOC, you’re tasting more than just sparkling wine. You’re sipping on the story of a special place, the power of volcanic soil, and the passion of three friends who want you to relax, enjoy, and say “Tasi” — which means “shut up” in their local dialect — a fun way of telling you to stop fussing and just enjoy the wine.
Tasting Notes
90% Glera, 10% Pinot Noir. Low Alcohol (12% ABV) Bright salmon pink in color and fine perlage. On the palate the wine is soft and fruity, with delicate floral aromas and a finish on a smooth dry note, which balances perfectly with the initial light sweetness.
