Reviews

Very pretty density to this, with polished, refined tannins and a combination of pure berry fruit and a silky texture. Lightly salty undertone. Limestone magic. ~94-95 JS

The 2023 Villemaurine has a well-defined bouquet with a light marine influencethat tinctures the red berry fruit. The oak is neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins—composed and fresh, with one of the more elegant and sapid finishes amongst the Saint-Émilion Grand Crus. This well-crafted 2023 is worth seeking out. ~93-95 NM-VM

The 2023 Villemaurine marries rich, dense fruit with the searing high acids that are typical of this wine. Red/purplish berries, rose petal, mocha, licorice and pomegranate race across the palate, with bright saline notes that effortlessly extend the finish. Villemaurine remains one of the most distinctive wines in Saint-Émilion. Tasted two times. ~92-95 AG-VM
