About the Wine

“The northeastern Italian region of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia is vibrant yet little-explored, words that could also be applied to its wines where the whites stand out.” ~Wine Spectator

The history of Reguta winery began in the late 1920s, with Ettore's dream of becoming a farmer, planting vineyards and fruit trees in the charming city of Verona. A few years later, that dream was moved to Friuli, where to date Reguta’s more the +600 acres of planted vineyards are located. To learn more about this amazing grape and the wines from it, click here.

This winery is located in Northeast Italy, just over 6 miles from the Adriatic Sea. This region is well-known for producing vibrant and exciting wines. Wine Spectator stated that “Northeastern Italy makes fabulously fresh wines from a number of different grapes.”

Thanks to the proximity to the sea, the vines from Reguta benefit from a fresh sea breeze and soils rich in clay that is composed mostly of mineral salts. These terroir conditions make Friuli the ideal region for the vine to thrive. The Reguta vineyard is planted with native grapes such as Refosco, Friulano, Pignolo, Ribolla Gialla or Verduzzo, and some international varieties too.

The work behind the wines from Reguta is admirable, starting in the vineyard, which is managed with extra special care and 100% manually, and in the winery, equipped with state-of-the-art technology to guarantee the high quality of all wines.

2020 was an outstanding year for white wines from Friuli. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate rewarded this vintage with a solid 94-Point review.

Tasting Notes

50% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Chardonnay, 10% Ribolla Gialla. Elegant and aromatic citric aromas with white flower, jasmine notes, hint of spearmint and green grass. On the palate it is soft, enveloping with long and pleasant persistence and an excellent balance. Pair this wine with fish dishes, stewed or barbecued white meats, and risotto. If you’re not familiar with the incredible white wines of NE Italy, try this.
