About the Wine

Situated on the historic grounds of the 15th-century Château de Thulon, this family-owned farm holds a rich heritage. Annie and René purchased the estate in 1987 after working as "métayers" for 20 years. Since then, they have infused their deep-rooted love for winemaking into every vine, and their children continue the tradition with an adventurous spirit of experimentation. 

The 2021 Domaine de Thulon Beaujolais-Villages Rouge is a testament to their expertise and devotion. Handpicked grapes undergo a meticulous process, starting with a light pressing to enhance the color and concentration of aromas. The distinctive technique of carbonic maceration takes center stage, allowing the true essence of the fruit to flourish. This elegant wine gracefully matures in stainless steel tanks, resulting in a harmonious balance of flavors.

Nestled on a granite hillside, these classic old-vine Beaujolais-Villages grapes bask in the warm embrace of a southwest exposure. The natural elements intertwine with the expertise of the Jambon family, crafting a wine that captivates with its authenticity and value. From vineyard to bottle, from bottling to distribution, the Jambon family personally oversees every step of the winemaking process.

At Domaine de Thulon, the commitment to sustainable practices shines through. With little mechanization possible on the Beaujolais slopes, the vineyards demand meticulous manual maintenance all year round. Their dedication to environmentally friendly practices is evident, as they embrace the principles of “lute raisonnée" to preserve the land's integrity.

Tasting Notes: 100% Gamay. With an intense, purplish-ruby color, this Beaujolais is packed with delicious aromas of cherry and strawberry that explode from the glass. Fresh and fruity, with just a slight hint of Allspice, this is a well-structured, delightful red. Try it slightly chilled to bring out more delicate fresh fruit flavors.
