About the Wine

"Considered one of the masters of white wine in the Côte de Beaune, Domaine Ramonet is among Burgundy's most revered and mysterious producers." ~Decanter

Step into the world of Burgundy's legendary cult winery, Domaine Ramonet, where tradition, terroir, and taste converge to create unparalleled wines.

Rooted in the heart of Burgundy, Domaine Ramonet stands as a beacon of winemaking excellence. From the visionary Pierre Ramonet, who carved his path in the 1920s, to the present-day stewardship of grandsons Noël and Jean-Claude, each bottle carries the legacy of generations past. Their commitment to the land and the craft has elevated Ramonet to iconic status in the world of wine.

Nestled North of the village of Chassagne-Montrachet lies the prestigious Les Vergers vineyard. With its East-facing orientation and limestone-rich soil, this hallowed ground yields grapes of unparalleled quality. Here, amidst 40 rows of vines planted in 1944, the magic of Domaine Ramonet unfolds.

Domaine Ramonet, one of the first Burgundy Domaines to bottle and export to the USA in 1935, continues its tradition of excellence under the third-generation offering 22 appellations, including Premiers Crus and Grands Crus, Domaine Ramonet remains a benchmark of quality and distinction in the world of wine.

Situated northwest of Chassagne-Montrachet, this vineyard faces eastward, basking in the gentle morning sun. Its proximity to a vast limestone quarry is a testament to the region's remarkable terroir, with the white and pale-pink cliffs serving as a striking reminder of the land's natural beauty and geological richness.

2019 was an incredible year for Burgundy, this is a vintage to stock up on, a vintage to collect, and a vintage to enjoy. It was awarded a 98-point review and called a "hedonistic" vintage, and stated to be "perhaps rival 1865, the greatest vintage of all."

Aging: 12 to 15 months in French oak barrels (30-35% new)

Tasting Notes: 100% Chardonnay. It exhibits orchard-fruit like flavors and aromas, with tones of honey and rosemary. It is suave and subtle, mid-weight on the palate, offering generous flavors of stone fruits and charred oak. This wine is elegant, pretty, and showy. Vines were replanted in 2007.
