About the Wine

Château Guerry is one of Bernard Magrez's many successful wine ventures, which includes the acclaimed Cru Classes classified Châteaux: Pape Clément, La Tour Carnet, Fombrauge, and Clos Haut-Peyraguey, or as he likes to call them “The winning quartet .”

Bernard, also known as “The man with 40 châteaux” (although today, he has more) is the owner of these “winning quartet,” and other 43 estates distributed around the world, in countries like France, Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Japan, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, and the USA.

He started his wine journey in 1961 when he joined the Cordier group, a renowned Bordeaux wine merchant house, and only 3 years later, he created his first business, called William Pitters, a spirits producer and distributor. This led him to become a major player in the French wine and spirit business.

Today, he’s considered one of the most influential people in the wine industry, and his wineries are a continuous reference for quality wines around the world.

2019 Chateau Guerry Cotes de Bourg is an amazing value Bordeaux blend. Harmonious, elegant, and a pleasure to drink and share. This wine was born in what appears to be a very good vintage in Bordeaux. Wine Spectator gave it a 92-55-point review.

Aging: 9 months in French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes: 55% Merlot, 20% Malbec, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc. This garnet-colored wine is strong on the palate, harmonious, and filled with fruit aromas like berries, strawberries, and cherries. Pair this wine with red meat or charcuterie.
