About the Wine

The story of Martinelli winery dates back over 135 years, when Giuseppe Martinelli y Luisa Vellutini arrived from Tuscany to the amazing Russian River Valley, pursuing their dream to plant vines and start producing their own wine. 

A strong love for the land has been passed down from generation to generation. And today, this family-owned winery is managed by the 6th generation of wine growers and farmers, all within the Martinelli family.

Martinelli has 15 vineyards located in some of the best appellations in California, including the Russian River Valley and Fort Ross Seaview. Every vineyard and winery itself is sustainably certified.

This is a remarkable Zinfandel house blend sourced from the finest Russian River Valley vineyards, meticulously planted by the pioneering grower-producer Martinelli. The Zinfandel boasts a powerful style, deriving its origins from vineyards with intriguing names like Jackass, Moonshine, and Chico's Hill, giving it a unique and meaningful character. Much like Amarone is to Valpolicella, Martinelli's Zinfandel stands out among others with its rich, almost caramelized flavor profile, showcasing notes of dried red fruits, nuts, dusty elements, and a potent juice.

Tasting Notes: 100% Zinfandel. 

Energetic aromas of wild strawberry, sweet leather and star anise lift and fill your nose. The palate has balanced acidity and elegant tannins with layers of chocolate and black cherry. Sweet and juicy flavors of blackberry and baking spices linger through the finish.
