    About the wine

Bertani’s impact on Veneto wine making, particularly in Amarone production, is so considerable that ‘Bertani’ and ‘Amarone’ are nearly synonymous. Their 150+ year history is dotted with groundbreaking initiatives and royal accreditation. While respectful of their past, Bertani strives towards innovation, using progressive techniques and equipment allied with extensive experience and a deeply felt respect for tradition to provide wines of uncompromising quality.

The grapes come from the Tenuta Novare vineyards at Arbizzano di Negrar, in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica area. Their 220 ha vineyards are covered with calcareous-marl soils and are devoted exclusively to the production of Amarone.

    Aging: In 30- , 54- and 75-hectolitre barrels for 24 months.

Tasting notes: 80% Corvina Veronese and 20% Rondinella. Color is intense ruby red. The nose offers great aromatic richness with fruity notes of cherry and blackberry. Spicy tones of cinnamon and pepper. Mouth-filling on the palate, soft and creamy, with a persistent, intense finish. Dense, meaty tannins

This opens with aromas of ripe dark berry, underbrush, incense and baking spice. The juicy palate delivers black cherry, chopped mint, tobacco and a hint of clove alongside polished, fine-grained tannins. ~92 Wine Enthusiast

A fresh, medium- to full-bodied red, featuring chewy tannins and a finely knit core of cherry puree and dried strawberry fruit. Subtly aromatic, with accents of loamy mineral, sandalwood and eucalyptus chiming in on the finish. Best from 2022 through 2030. 7,500 cases made, 900 cases imported. ~91 Wine Spectator
