About the Wine

Vignerons de Caractere is a cooperative featuring plots throughout the Southern Rhone owned by 80 small and independent wine-producing families. The majority of the vineyards are in Vaqueyras but the collective maintains plots in Gigondas, Beaumes-de-Venise, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Vignerons de Caractere has always been on the cutting edge of wine production technology and were the 1st cellar in Europe to utilized suspended vats. Growing wines in accordance with the terroir and maintaining the highest standards during production, These Vignerons have created an affordable Gigondas darling from one of the most prestigious appellations in the S. Rhone.

Tasting Notes

Red Wine. Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. In the glass, the wine is rather bright with a light plum red robe. Elegant aromas of stewed strawberries black jam, spice, dried herbs, and a touch of leather. The palate is filled with black fruit, licorice, with a touch of tannins.
