Alessio Planeta, head of Planeta, has been named "Winemaker of the Year" worldwide by the prestigious Wine Enthusiast magazine through their "Wine Star Awards" in 2023. 

Their vineyards are distributed throughout 5 different regions around Sicily: Menfi, Etna, Vittoria, Noto, and Capo Milazzo, resulting in an incredibly interesting wine portfolio: Different soils, different climates, different grapes, different (and incredible) wines! This is a rare and exclusive variety cultivated according to the criteria of sustainability and organicity, in only a few hectares in the whole of Sicily, which reaches its ultimate expression in the red sands of Vittoria, not far from the sea. An aromatic and pleasing red wine as are few others, the perfect synthesis between tradition and new trends.

This wine's brilliant garnet color in the glass is matched by its bright and sunny notes of red fruit—cherries, strawberries and raspberries. A slight earthiness expands on those aromas, with tomato and red pepper accents that are all repeated on the palate. Punchy astringency comes from soil notes and tannins. ~91 Wine Enthusiast
