About the Wine

Salento is a paradise on earth.  The Greeks referred to this part of Italy as Oenotria, the land of grapes. With millennia of experience and history, this is an area where one finds some of the oldest and original grape varietals.

Giustini winery is located in San Giorgio, a small and charming village in Primitivo di Manduria, just between the sea of Taranto and the heights of the Itria Valley.

It all started back in 1991, when Giuseppe Papadopoli, a well-known farmer, spent many years running some of the most productive and recognized vineyards in the region, and thus his wine dream began when he purchased a couple of acres and started planting some vines. After perfecting the winemaking techniques, and making sure the vineyard was in perfect condition, they released their first label in 2005, a high-quality Negroamaro.

This family-owned winery is now run by the 4th generation of the Papadopoli family, where much progresses have been made, from the vineyard to the cellar, but the main goal remains the same: “We strive for a wine capable of treasuring past experience, interpreting the signals of the present and accepting the challenges of the future. We have an indissoluble connection with our land and with each of the indigenous varieties we work with. The goal is to preserve their typicality and characteristics in order to enhance and never distort them.”

The vineyard is located in a magical place, a “little paradise” very close to the Mar Piccolo, highly influenced by the Scirocco and Tramontana Ocean breeze, and placed on a unique soil of clay, sand, and some fossil shells. The vineyard is managed with sustainable viticulture and minimal intervention.

This Rosato Di Negroamaro "Costiero" is a crystalline rosé wine with an elegant soul.

Aging: Stainless steel tanks.

Tasting Notes: 100% Negroamaro. Bright pink rosé. Intense and wide, fruity notes. An elegant structure and good consistency. This is the perfect summer wine. Best to serve at between 45 and 55ºF and pair it with Italian starters, fresh or slightly aged cheese, and a charcuterie board. You'll love it!
