About the Wine

This Vieilles Vignes cuvée gives one of the best wines of its appellation. The grapes are harvested from vines of over 35 years old and then aged on lees for 16 months. Its power combined with the mineral character of its terroir make its typicity. The well-maintained vineyards of the domain make for a wine that is extremely worthy of age. This wine is ready to drink showing some tell-tale characteristics of a developed white wine.

Domaine Manuel Olivier has been producing wine for four generations. Under the guidance of Manuel today, the estate grows all their grapes organically with sustainable practices included whenever possible. In the winery, only native yeasts are used for fermentation, and no chemicals are added to the wine.

Aligote is the often-overlooked second white grape of Burgundy. The wines, when produced by a careful and attentive winemaker can be deliciously sumptuous but minerally fresh. When a truly caring winemaker is in control, you can get a wine that is really able to stand the test of time and mature gracefully.

Tasting Notes: 100% Aligote. nose with aromas of peach, apricot, then white flowers. On the palate, a fresh attack, giving way to fat and fullness, then, on the finish, to the mineral power typical of its terroir.
