About the Wine

If you are looking for an outstanding daily wine, a Tuscan wine that expresses the authenticity of the Sangiovese, a wine completely faithful to its terroir and at a fair price, this one is for you, and the best part: It is at 50% Off!

Podere Montale is a winery full of originality, passion, and a certain mystery. Founded in 2014, this winery is on the slopes of the ancient volcano Amiata in Montecucco DOCG, south of Tuscany, and just over 10 miles away from the acclaimed region of Montalcino.

Podere Montale's terroir is superb, it is the perfect place for the growth and development of vines and olive trees. The climate is divine, and thanks to the proximity to the sea, the vineyard receives a refreshing breeze that benefits the vine. The soils are rich in marl, with ancient lava compounds. This blessed terroir results in particularly fresh and exquisite wines!

If there are two words that can describe founder Silvio Mendini, are “Will” and “Ambition”. Thanks to his love for the wine, the land, and the region, Silvio has achieved rapid growth and worldwide recognition of the winery.

The vineyard, composed of more than 44 acres, is managed in a sustainable way and with a special focus on the conservation of agriculture, this implies keeping the vineyard in balance with the flora and fauna of the area. “We are committed to giving back to nature what it gives us with each harvest.” ~ Silvio Mendini.

2015 Podere Montale "Cinquevigne" Maremma Toscana is produced with grapes from the Maremma Toscana DOC, Seggiano and Grosseto region and is aged for 10 months in French Oak Barrels.

Tasting Notes: 100% Sangiovese. Hints of maraschino cherries and little berry fruits. With a well-balanced spiciness. The full and sharp flavor expresses its intensity and elegance. Perfect for pizza, tomato-based pastas, gnocchi, Pecorino cheese, and Fiorentina steak.
