About this Wine

Cembra Cantina di Montagna (mountain winery) is the highest winery in Trentino (700 meters) and the third-highest in Italy.

The winery was founded as a cooperative winemaking facility in 1952 among 400 growers.

Cembra is nestled in the most significant European basin of porphyry – the red gold of the valleys – a rock that gives the wines a certain sapidity, minerality and extraordinary persistence. A triumph of tastes and aromas that reveal the wonders of this hidden world, whose mountain people faithfully know how to preserve the best of the tradition and value of these places.

The white wines of NE Italy are considered some of the world’s most renowned and finest white wines.

If you love Italian white wines, you already know this part of Italy produces some of the best white wines in the world. The unique Kerner grape is a hybrid cross between Sciava and Riesling. The wine is dry and has an amazing fruit-acid balance which makes it a fantastic wine for food pairing.

Created in Weinsberg (Germany) around 1930, Kerner is a cross of Schiava and Riesling grapes. Best grown in the light, gravelly and sandy soils of high and sun-facing slopes such as those of the Cembra Valley.

You don't know what you're missing until you've had a Kerner.

Aging:100% Stainless steel, the 4 months sur lie prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes: White wine. Kerner is a straw-yellow wine with greenish highlights and a fresh, vibrant and aromatic nose. The palate is well-balanced, fresh and fruity, carrying delicate peach and apricot notes.

Reviews

Lemon pith, loquat, lots of blossom and honeysuckle. Medium-to full-bodied with good, driven acidity and a tangy finish. Drink now. ~91WE
