About the Wine

"I love the tension between fresh herbal notes and white peaches in this stunningly fresh and pristine dry white, which has so much energy and freshness on the crisp palate." ~93 Points, James Suckling.

Located in the Valley of Salnés, a coastal region of the province of Pontevedra, Galicia (right in the heart of the Rias Baixas), is the famous Finca Tremoedo by Granbazán winery.

The French influence is well marked in this place, with an estate that reminds the top Châteaux from Bordeaux, but with a fusion of Galician tradition; that is Granbazan.

And speaking of Galician traditions, we cannot leave out the great grape of the region, the most emblematic, the one and only Albariño, with which some of the best white wines the world has seen are produced.

Agro de Bazan Granbazan Label Ambar Albariño Rías Baixas is one of the best exponents of the Albariño grape in the world; in 2017 Granbazan Amabr was #63 on Wine Enthusiast's top 100.

Tasting Notes: 100% Albariño. Faint translucent and bright yellow. On the nose, it is of medium-high intensity, with its classic tropical notes, ripe apricot, tangerine, and pastries. In the mouth it has a great personality, it’s juicy and light, at the same time tasty and elegant. The medium persistence finish is soft, silky, and very saline. Pair this wine with Thai food, pasta with creamy sauces (Carbonara), grilled bluefish, and resistant European aftertaste cheeses, such as Cruiller, Edam, or Touza Vella.

Reviews

I love the tension between fresh herbal notes and white peaches in this stunningly fresh and pristine dry white, which has so much energy and freshness on the crisp palate. Just enough fruity juiciness to make the mid-palate really appealing, allowing its strong, mineral side to leap out at you at the brilliant finish. Drink or hold. ~93 Points, James Suckling.

"Tangerine, rose water, and passion fruit in the fragrance. Wide on the palate, but not a bit broad, intensively substantial, fine acid bite, supple in the background, will mature to volume and complexity." ~92 Points, Falstaff.

~90 Points, Guía Peñín.

Intense, floral sea salty Rias Baixas. Aromas of ripe melon with ripe pears, lemons, and kiwi and rich peachiness on the palate. Ocean sea salt. Great concentration and a juicy tropical finish. ~95 Points, International Wine Challenge (v. 2019)
