About the Wine

The Talinay Sauvignon Blanc is grown Talinay Vinyard estates on the western side of the Limari Valley. This growing site is less than 10 miles from the Pacific Ocean, providing a cool crisp growing environment, perfect for producing high-quality white wines. The wine is raised entirely in stainless steel tanks, giving a laser-focused profile that is extremely bright and refreshing. This is the perfect sauvignon blanc to drink when you need to cool off on a hot summers day.

Felipe Müller was born and raised in Chile’s capital, Santiago. Today, at the age of 41, he is considered one of the country´s most influential and important winemakers. In 2006 he joined Tabalí as Chief Winemaker. According to Felipe Müller, "Tabalí, though relatively young, has enormous potential. This is shown by its outstanding Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Syrah wines”. The winery’s goal is to make the finest wines of the Limari Valley and ultimately become a reference at a national level, by exploring new terroir, new plantations and new selections of clones.

Felipe Müller was named ‘Best Winemaker of the Year’ in the sixteenth version of “Guía de Vinos de Chile 2010”, Chile’s oldest and most prestigious wine industry publication. This distinction was an important recognition for the enthusiasm, passion and dedication he puts in crafting wines.

Tasting Notes: 100% Sauvignon Blanc. This Sauvignon Blanc reflects the unique character of the Talinay terroir. The nose reveals great elegance and minerality, with aromas of spring flowers and citrus fruit. This balances perfectly with the fresh, vibrant and complex palate.

Reviews

Talinay Sauvignon is a selection of lime-rich vineyards owned by Tabalí about 12 kilometers from the sea, on the coastal hills of the Limarí Valley. There, the sea and the soil have a very powerful influence, providing a salinity that is difficult to find in other South American sauvignon. More than fruit, it feels as if it were made of limestone, a sensation that is maintained throughout the mouth in a generous, wide, powerful body. A great personality that could go very well with mojama-style smoked tuna or with shrimp of those that appear in the bed of the Limarí river; shrimp with earthy flavors and great personality like that of this sauvignon.~ 96 Descorchados
