About the Wine
Some wines wear tuxedos. This one wears a linen shirt, half-buttoned, leaning against a Sicilian fishing boat with the sun in its eyes. The 2022 Settesoli Nero d’Avola comes from Menfi, a seaside paradise where vineyards roll down to the Mediterranean and bask in nearly 300 days of sunshine each year.
Nero d’Avola is Sicily’s leading man—bold, a little spicy, never boring. Think dark cherries, ripe plums, mulberries, and just enough pepper to keep you guessing.
Settesoli’s family of growers has been passionately caring for their vineyards in coastal Sicily for generations. Rooted in tradition and the warm Sicilian sun, their work reflects the heart and soul of this unique territory.
Cantine Settesoli, a cooperative of over 2,000 families farming 6,000 hectares across diverse soils, brings that heritage into the cellar. Grapes are hand-harvested at peak ripeness, fermented in stainless steel for freshness, and given a short rest on fine lees to add subtle texture—allowing the fruit to shine at its best.
This is the red you pour when you want dinner to last hours, the conversation to get a little wilder, and the music to stay on long after the plates are cleared.
It’s Sicily. It’s Nero d’Avola. And it’s dangerously easy to love.
Grapes are harvested in early September. Aging takes place in stainless steel tanks for 3 months.
Tasting Notes
100% Nero D’Avola
Full-bodied and persistent, with a bright ruby red color, it offers decisive hints of ripe morello cherry and plum. On the palate, it is soft and velvety. There is a core sweetness that tells you this is from the island of seven suns.
