About the Offer

The Leflaive legacy stretches back to 1717, when Claude Leflaive planted the family’s roots in Puligny-Montrachet with a fearless vision: to shape one of Burgundy’s great vineyard estates. That vision became reality between 1910 and 1930, as Joseph Leflaive expanded the domaine through bold, strategic acquisitions—laying the groundwork for a name now synonymous with the pinnacle of white Burgundy.

Still entirely family-owned, Domaine Leflaive is today led by Brice de La Morandière, Joseph’s great-grandson and the fourth generation to guide the estate. With an international business career behind him and the pioneering spirit of Anne-Claude Leflaive, a leader in biodynamic viticulture, Brice carries the domaine forward with the same uncompromising values: profound respect for terroir, humility before nature, and a relentless pursuit of purity and excellence.

Clavoillon is one of Leflaive’s signature Premier Cru sites—a 4.79-hectare, clay-limestone parcel planted between 1959 and 1988, located just north of their famed Les Pucelles vineyard. Biodynamically farmed, hand-harvested, and slowly pneumatically pressed before fermenting in oak, it produces a Puligny with unmistakable depth and tension.

The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Clavoillon Premier Cru delivers texture and richness uncommon for Puligny, yet stays laser-focused and precise. Dense and unctuous yellow plum and greengage fruit meet a crisp, vibrant edge, finishing on savory notes of citrus pith and rock salt. It’s a wine that bridges the finesse of Puligny and the plushness of Meursault—its chalky, saline core revealing the site’s quiet power and unmistakable Premier Cru pedigree.

This 6pk includes:
  • 2023 Domaine Leflaive Clavoillon Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru

Though there’s plenty of flesh, this white is elegant, featuring peach, lemon oil, hazelnut, floral, butterscotch and oyster shell aromas and flavors. A supple style, just picking up some texture on the intense, mineral-driven aftertaste. Shows impressive harmony and length. Best from 2027 through 2036. ~ 95 Wine Spectator

The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Clavoillon 1er Cru has a more backward bouquet with touches of petrichor and green apple unfolding in the glass, quite strict compared to the other cuvées. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. There is a touch of reduction at the moment, but it is simpatico with the fruit and feels lightly spiced on the peppery finish. This will require a couple of years once in bottle. ~ 92 Vinous Media

What our customers say about us

Domaine Leflaive

Burgundy, France

The estate as we know it today took shape between 1910 and 1930, when Joseph Leflaive expanded the domaine through strategic acquisitions of vineyards and homes—laying the foundation for one of Burgundy’s greatest names.

Since its creation, Domaine Leflaive has remained entirely family-owned. Today, leadership rests with Brice de La Morandière, Joseph Leflaive’s great-grandson and the fourth generation at the helm.

After a successful international business career, he stepped in following the passing of Anne-Claude, a trailblazer in biodynamic viticulture.
