About the Wine
Sardinia is unique. This amazing Italian island, located in the Mediterranean Sea, is home to some of the rarest wines in the country. Wine Spectator said that this island “has everything it needs to produce great wines.” And that it “offers a chance to dive into a little-known wine region that's really starting to shine.”
This island has some of the Mediterranean's most ancient winemaking histories. Winemaking is in the blood of the Sardinian people. We aren’t joking around - winemaking dates to 1200 B.C. on this island, making it a floating artifact of wine history. Sardinia produces outstanding red wines that keep all wine lovers on their toes with their mysterious origins and delicious character. -Learn more about the magic of Sardinia by clicking HERE.
Argiolas is the foremost wine estate on Sardinia Island, known for crafting quintessential wines that are an ode to the island's terroir. If you truly want to discover the fascinating Mediterranean wines that this island has to offer, Arigolas is your go-to!
The estate was founded in 1938 by Antonio Arigolas. This family is a watershed in the history of wine on the island since they were the first to bet on quality rather than quantity. Today, the Argiolas family is recognized as Sardinia’s leading wine producer.
The family estate covers more than 600 acres of vineyards planted only with native grapes like Nuragus, Monica, and Cannonau, Vermentino. Farming is 100% sustainable and has minimal intervention.
Tasting Notes
100% Vermentino.
Vermentino di Sardegna DOC is bright, fresh, and effortlessly elegant. Grown in limestone-rich soils and partly aged in French oak, it offers a perfect balance of crispness and subtle richness—ideal with seafood, light pastas, and grilled white meats.
Expect intense, lingering aromas of fresh herbs and citrus. On the palate, it’s lively and balanced with a clean, refreshing finish—a vibrant Sardinian classic.
