About the Wine

Most Champagne you've had has added sugar — a "dosage" blended in at the end to soften acidity and round out the wine. Gremillet makes none of that compromise here. This is Brut Nature: zero grams of added sugar, zero hiding behind sweetness. What you get instead is Champagne in its most honest, stripped-back form.

Gremillet is a legacy of authenticity, simplicity, and relentless pursuit of excellence. The Gremillet family’s journey began in 1979, with a dream to create a champagne that would grace the most prestigious gatherings around the world.

Today, that dream is a reality, with Gremillet Champagne proudly served in over fifty embassies and consulates worldwide.

The Gremillet family’s philosophy is beautifully captured in their distinctive metal cap, which features the words “Al andar se hace camino” (Walker, you make the path as you go) by Machado. This ascending motif represents the path of life—a journey of perseverance, optimism, and success.

This wine spends a minimum of 30 months aging on its lees — longer than most non-vintage Champagnes are required to rest — and draws from a blend of four to five vintages plus 20% reserve wine. The result is a Champagne that punches well above its price, with the kind of purity and precision that wine lovers who favor Chablis or mineral-driven whites tend to find genuinely exciting

If you've ever wondered what Champagne actually tastes like without the training wheels, this is the answer.

Tasting Notes

50% Pinot Noir, 50% Chardonnay.

Bright golden color with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose is delicate and inviting — crisp blossoms, ripe pear, fresh green apple, and subtle notes of hazelnut and almond.

On the palate, the wine is lively and round, showing red apple fruit tightened by a streak of mineral tension. The finish is long and clean, with no cloying sweetness — just pure, refreshing Champagne character. Ready to drink now; can hold up to five years.

Critical Reviews

This bone-dry Champagne, a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, has ripe pear and fresh green-apple aromas. The wine is full of red-apple flavors, tightened by minerality. The wine is ready to drink. ~ 93 Wine Enthusiast

The nose plunges straight into a basket of ripe summer fruits, white flowers and citrus fruits, with their fresh, juicy, sunny fragrances. The palate is fresh and taut, without excessive acidity. A superb balance of yellow citrus, citrusy notes of eucalyptus and tarragon, with a lemony finish that awakens the taste buds. It's very well done, as the absence of dosage melts into the material. The bubbles are perfectly dynamic before a chalky finish that adds breadth and chewiness. ~ 93 Gault & Millau

Aromas of dried lemons, apricots, dried apples, pastries and chalk. Medium-bodied with sharp acidity and fine bubbles. Fresh and bright with pleasing pastry character to round out the crisp fruit. Dry. Drink now. ~ 91 James Suckling

What our customers say about us

Gremillet

Champagne, France

Founded in 1979 by Jean-Michel Gremillet with just a single hectare of vines, Champagne Gremillet has grown into a bold, family-run house making serious waves from the Aube region.

Today, the second generation—his children, Anne and Jean-Christophe Gremillet—are at the helm, pushing boundaries while staying true to their roots. Nestled just south of Épernay, their vineyards turn out crisp, expressive Champagnes that punch well above their weight. This isn’t stuffy, old-school fizz. It’s fresh, elegant, and built for modern celebrations. Gremillet isn’t just keeping up with tradition. They’re redefining it—one bottle at a time.
