• 2021 Revana Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon St. Helena Napa Valley (99pts)

The 2021 Revana Cabernet Sauvignon comes from their estate vineyard and was stored in 80% new French oak before bottling. Loamy soil and violets mark the nose alongside wild blackberry and shades of dark chocolate shavings with graphite notes. The palate is silky and refined with a serious sense of weight and underlying verve. • 2021 Merus Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley (97pts)

Beautiful plum and blue fruits, sappy herbs, violets, and sandalwood notes all emerge from Merus's 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, a deep purple-hued, ripe, sexy 2021. Despite all its upfront baby fat, it has a rock-solid underlying structure and is going to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and should be long-lived. ~ 97 Jeb Dunnuck

What is immediately surprising is just how seamless this young barrel sample of Cabernet is, effusing a plush, soft, and silky fruit profile with layers of creamy dark berry fruits, nuanced by fragrant sagebrush and sweet toasty cedar wood. What an effort! One of the most satisfying wines from this challenging vintage. Crafted by winemaker Rebekah Wineburg with Quintessa's estate Cabernet grapes that are farmed according to biodynamic and organic standards. ~98 Decanter

An amazingly lush texture and impressively deep fruit and spice flavors in this jaw-dropping example of how good a wine from the troubled 2022 vintage can be. Saturated in blueberries, dried cherries, dark chocolate, and blackcurrants. So layered, complex, velvety and long. The lingering finish echoes generous fruit and subtle but intriguing oak spices from 83% new French barrels. Drinkable now, but best from 2030. ~96 James Suckling

Blackberry and black cherry with some lead pencil. Medium to full body with round and juicy tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Savory and flavorful. Smoky. Just a hint of thyme and sage. Lovely velvety tannins. Drink now or hold. ~97 James Suckling

• 2022 Peter Michael 'Au Paradis' Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville (97pts)

Lush, almost sweet, silky and delicious, this elegant and collectible wine shows red and black cherries, mint chocolate and blackcurrants. Cherry creme and spearmint flavors expand on the palate, backed by soft, very fine-grained tannins. Quite indulgent, luxurious and sensuous with a lingering finish.
