Tasi comes from the beautiful Veneto region, known for its hills, history, and amazing wines. But this story is special — the vineyard actually sits in an old limestone quarry on a hill in Val d’Illasi, near Verona. This quarry was once a busy place where limestone was mined for a cement factory. Now, it’s a peaceful spot where vines grow strong, thanks to the rich soil left behind.

Nearby, the Colli Euganei hills just outside Padova add another layer to the story. These hills were formed by ancient volcanic activity, so the soil is a unique mix of lava, magma, clay, and chalk. This volcanic soil gives Tasi’s grapes a fresh, mineral taste that you won’t find just anywhere.

The winery itself is the dream of three friends — Matteo, Michele, and Mattia — who started planting vines here in the early 2000s with a promise to farm organically and biodynamically. They care deeply about nature, keeping lots of woods around the vineyard where wild animals roam. They also raise animals like horses, sheep, goats, chickens, and bees to keep the land healthy.

In 2013, after years of hard work, they opened Tenuta Le Cave Wine Relais and Organic Farm — a beautiful place where visitors can stay, enjoy great food with stunning views, visit the wine shop, and even relax at the spa.
