About the Wine

Rooted in a legacy spanning century, the Labet family has been crafting wines in Beaune since the 1980s, drawing inspiration from their ancestral home, Bastion Notre Dame, nestled in the heart of Beaune since 1800.

Francois Labet, a visionary in winemaking, wears two distinct "hats" - one at Chateau de La Tour Clos Vougeot and the other at Domaine Pierre & Francois Labet. At Chateau de La Tour, where the Labet and D'Achelette families have shaped wine history since the 15th century, Francois tends to six hectares of old vines in Clos Vougeot, cultivating grapes with meticulous care. The Vieilles Vignes Pinot Noir, sourced from vines aged between eighty and one hundred years, embodies the essence of this historic vineyard.

Embracing sustainable practices,Maison Francois Labet is among the select few in Clos Vougeot committed to organic viticulture. Since 1992, Francois has championed organic methods, fostering the growth of natural grasses between the vines to enrich the soil and elevate the wine's expression of terroir.

Aging: The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks (2/3) and in barrels of 2 wines (1/3). It was bottled in Beaune.

Tasting Notes: 100% Pinot Noir. Radiating a light ruby hue, it entices with aromas of dark cherry and violets, complemented by hints of sweet spice and earthiness. With its refreshing acidity, this wine is a versatile partner for any meal.
