About the Wine

In Peter Paul Wines, passion, friendship, and philanthropy converge to craft some of the finest wines along the California North Coast. Nestled in the heart of Napa Valley, the winery remains one of the industry's best-kept secrets, producing less than 2,000 cases annually.

Behind every bottle lies a captivating story. At the helm of the winery stands Peter Paul, an entrepreneur and philanthropist with an eye for numbers and a heart for wine and giving back. After a successful career in the financial sector, Peter's passion for wine grew from a young age. With dedication and vision, he founded Peter Paul Wines, crafting limited-production wines that embody the spirit of Napa Valley and beyond. Peter's commitment to philanthropy shines through, supporting various Bay Area nonprofits and higher education institutions.

Guiding Peter Paul Wines with finesse and expertise is Martin, the only Master of Wine of Mexican descent in the world. His journey began while studying in Paris and evolved into a distinguished career in the wine industry. Under his direction, the wines have earned critical acclaim, making their mark among the finest in the country.

Peter Paul Wines believes in making a difference, not just in the world of wine but for the planet too. Sustainability is at the core of their values. From reducing bottle weights and using recycled paper labels to embracing telecommuting and reducing market travel, they are on a journey toward a more sustainable future.

This wine embodies the sunny temperament of California's North Coast fruit while embracing the refined essence of each grape's DNA and European heritage. With the perfect balance of fruit, savor, and structure, this Cabernet Sauvignon dances on the palate, hitting a sweet spot of ripeness without overwhelming. It's a delightful symphony of density, richness, and pure joy that leaves a lasting impression.

2019 was a fabulous year for Napa Valley Cabernet. Wine Spectator awarded this year a 97-point score, and Vinous Media gave it 96 points saying that "The 2019 Napa Valley Cabernets have turned out beautifully. 2019 is a very high-quality vintage of Cabernets that will be easy to drink and enjoy with minimal cellaring. The extra kick of late heat softened the tannins, making the wines a pleasure to taste and drink."

Aging: 26-month aging in 45% new French Oak.

Tasting Notes90% Cabernet Sauvignon 8% Cabernet Franc, 2% Merlot. Gorgeous, mocha-spiced, forest-floor, dried herb aromas usher in an impressive palate with a seamless juxtaposition of savory/fruit elements. Olive, sage, and sweet tobacco, rounded out by black cherry, blueberry, and black currant. The tannins are firm yet pliant.
