About the Wine

Château de Gaudou has been around for almost 300 years. This estate is led by the passion and commitment of the Durou family, where innovation, tradition, high quality, and sustainability have been top priorities to maintain the reputation this Château holds.

Their philosophy is to create wines that can perfectly portray the amazing terroir of Cahors. Chateau Gadou’s vineyards are managed with sustainable agriculture and minimal intervention, and they recently achieved the High Environmental Value certification and started the conversion to organic agriculture.

Puro Rosé is produced with 30-year-old Cot vines (French Malbec). These grapes are grown on clay-limestone hilltops and terraces in the Cahors. The process from the vineyard to the cellar is manual, with extreme care and respect for the vines. This Rosé results from direct pressing with a pneumatic press (70%) and bleed juice (30%). It is fermented in a cement tank, and it's lightly fined and minimally filtered.

The rainbow label was the creation of owner Fabrice’s 6-year-old son when during the Pandemic, he drew a rainbow. This wine, like the drawing, represents the happiness and beauty after the storm.

Tasting Notes: 100% Malbec. Round, bright, and juicy with amazing aromas of red berries and flowers, the palate is refreshing and light. This wine is so easy to drink and the perfect wine to drink by itself or as an aperitif. Pair it with your favorite summer food and friends!
