About the Wine

Founded in 1994 by the professional French soccer player, Eric Prissette. Chateau Rol Valentine was a part of the garagiste movement in Bordeaux that emerged in the mid-1990s as a reaction to the traditional style of Bordeaux. Unlike the traditional style of Bordeaux that is high in tannins and requires over a decade before it's ready to drink; Vins de Garage's style is bigger, bolder, and fruiter and is ready to drink now. No need to wait to taste the splendors of the exceptional 2016 vintage. Wine consultant, Stéphane Derenoncourt assists the estate in production.

Derenoncourt is one of France's premier wine consultants and his specific expertise is in the Right Bank. His clients include Domaine de Chevalier, Clos Fourtet, Clos de l'Oratoire, Chateau Pavie-Macquin, Canon-la-Gaffeliere, Smith Haut Lafitte, Brown, as well as Francis Ford Coppola's Rubicon Estate in Napa.

Vines average 40 years in age and are hand-harvested and fermented in temperature-controlled, wooden tanks. After aging, the wine is lightly fined but not filtered. The vines are tended to without the use of herbicides.
