About The Wine
Cap de Faugères sits in Castillon — the limestone-clay hills just east of Saint-Émilion, where the same slopes produce Merlot-led Bordeaux at a fraction of the famous neighbor's price.
The estate shares its roots with Chateau Faugères, and the wine shows the appellation's calling card: plump, approachable fruit with real structure underneath. 2000 was a celebrated Bordeaux vintage, and at this age it's drinking at its mellow, savory peak.

Lovely plummy wine, with lots of chocolate and vanilla character. Medium-bodied, with full and round soft tannins and a long finish. Much better than from barrel. Delicious. Best after 2005. 7,250 cases made. ~Wine Spectator
