Tenute Folonari is considered one of the best wine producers in all of Tuscany. Producing since the late 18th century, the Folonari brothers reflect the tradition, values ​​and respect of this great land.

Ambrogio Folonari, a great visionary and wine lover, founded the company in 2000 always focused on producing high quality wines. Currently, his son Giovanni is in charge of this magnificent project. Giovanni graduated from the University of Davis in California in Oenology, Viticulture and Fermentation. In addition, he has worked with celebrities from the wine industry like Robert Mondavi. Giovanni continues to infuse knowledge, creativity, experience and innovation to the estate. 

For many generations, the Folonari family have been passionate about wine and quality. They currently have 5 different estates located in some of the best areas in Tuscany, where some of the best wines in the world are produced.

2016 Nozzole Chianti Riserva is produced in La Tenuta di Nozzole. This vineyard had already a long history before it was bought by the Folonari family. It dates back to the year 1300 and is located less than 30km from one of the most charming cities in the world, Florence. Greve in Chianti is a town right in the heart of Tuscany.

La Tenuta di Nozzole is not only recognized for producing some of the best Chianti Classicos in the region, and other versions like Annata, Riserva, Gran Selezione and Vin Santo, but also for its enotourism at Villa Nozzole, a luxurious villa for all those who want to travel and live the real experience of Tuscany.

Aging: French oak barrels for 10-12 months.

Tasting Notes

100% Sangiovese. Generous aromas of macerated cherries and mature fresh fruit. Ample, full and assertive on the palate with a lingering finish and an equal balance of soft tannins. Pair this wine with Florentine Steak, pasta, pizza.
