About the Wine

Domaine Henri Latour et Fils is a 37-acre estate owned and managed by brothers, Francois and Sylvan Latour, in Auxey-Duresses. They represent the 7th generation of growers. The vineyards— with vines that are 50 to 70 years old—are farmed sustainably using the lutte raisonnée philosophy, an approach that embraces using agrochemicals when only absolutely necessary. The fruit is hand-harvested and sorted in the vineyard and again when it arrives at the Domaine via a sorting table. The vines and the grapes are cared for with all the respect they are due. The end result is a complex, quality Burgundy that also just happens to be a downright steal.

Alcoholic fermentation for whites is done in barrel as is the malolactic fermentation for reds. This estate represents fantastic values from top to bottom. This wine comes from a lovely 3.2 acre single vineyard in Saint Romain averaging 40 years in age.

The estate has a rich heritage and tradition and their commitment to craftsmanship and winemaking philosophy further enhances the quality and finesse of their wines. Domaine Henri Latour et Fils has earned a stellar reputation and numerous accoladesand multiple 90+ scores, making their wines a must-taste for wine enthusiasts seeking a truly magnificent experience.

2022 was an incredible vintage for Burgundy. Vinous Media blessed this year with a 96 point review, and said: "The style of 2022 is primed for early consumption, more than 2019 or 2020. The 2022 Burgundy vintage offers a bounty for those with a passion for its wines. "

Aging: 20% new oak for 11 months, 100% Barrel Fermented

Tasting Notes

100% Chardonnay. A beautiful finesse nose of white flowers, lemon peel, and smoky calcaire; nice attack in the mouth, chalky mineral wraps around citrus fruit. On the finish, you get orange skin oil and hints of oak.

Critical Reviews

This tasty, creamy and subtly spicy white has notes of sliced pears, grapefruit and hazelnuts. It’s full- bodied but very bright and lively, with subtle toasty notes at the end. Drink now. ~91 James Suckling
