Domaine Pere et Fils is one of our favorite under-the-radar producers of Burgundy. This is a family that, simply put, makes great Burgundy. The Poulleau family has crafted quality Burgundy since the 1960s. Established by husband and wife Michel and Jacqueline, their son Thierry and his wife Florence have since taken the reins. Over 90% of the wine they produce is made from Pinot Noir grown throughout Burgundy. They’re experts at producing reds that reflect the terroir from the regions they’re grown in.

Volnay is one of the most exclusive and prestigious wine villages in Burgundy, that's known for its elegant and refined red wines. The wines are characterized by their finesse, delicate flavors, and floral aromas, with a silky texture and balanced acidity. Volnay wines are highly sought after. Some of the most iconic wine producers in Burgundy are located or have vineyards in this appellation, names Domaine Marquis d'Angerville, Domaine de Montille, and Domaine Michel Lafarge which wines can go up to $200/ bottle or more!

2022 is looking to be a great year in Burgundy. Decanter said, "Despite the (very) hot and dry season, 2022 wasn’t a typical année solaire, according to the verdicts of Burgundy’s winemakers, with quality and quantity to be found, many early-drinking options, but reds to lay down, too. Overall quality is very high for red wines. There is more concentration in 2022… even if you try to make wine for the future, they are showing quite well right now."

Aging: 1 year in oak casks (20% new casks)

Tasting Notes: 100% Pinot Noir. Red fruits aromas. Round wine, concentrated and delicate. Pair this wine with Roasted poultry, grilled meats and cheese like camembert.
